read 2.5 hrs.
pgs. 264-325

In this part of the book. Gunner and Preston are finally home. It turns out that they do stay in contact. They decide that they want to go to Snow College in Utah together. They do go and Gunner walks on to the football team while Preston does his pre med class work. Gunner makes the team and he starts to work to get the starting quarterback slot. He is battling and in the second game of the season he gets to play but does not play too well. Then in the third game he gets another chance and does really well. He gets the starting spot for the next couple of games and keeps up his good play.

This was a good part of the book and I was glad that they did not stay apart. I am excited to see what happens next!!

pgs. 199-264

This part of the book i thought was very cool. As they go throughout their mission they keep on working out and Gunner gets really strong. Preston also makes a deal after Gunner finds out that he is interested in becoming a trainer in the Medical field. The deal is that Gunner will pursue football if Preston pursues his medical endeavors. One day as they are walking they are having no luck doing the work they need to do. They see a couple of guys playing soccer and say, if we beat you, you have to listen to us. So they play and they win. I think that this bonds their companionship together. They continue to teach and eventually the two men become members of the LDS faith. They continue to work out and eventually they both leave from their missions back home.

I hope that the two of them dont stay away from eachother and throw away the goals that they made for eachother. I am excited to see what happens and if and when they meet up again.
Read for 2.5 hrs.
pgs. 112-199

In this part of the book, Gunner and Preston meet as new LDS missionary companions and think that they do not have much in common. They really do not get along much in the beginning, but then Preston digs some very vital information out of Gunner that he used to be the starting quarterback at his high school in California but got injured in his senior season and Gunner thought his career was over. Preston starts to work out with Gunner in the mornings when they find some free time. He realizes that Gunner is a good quarterback and has potential to play football at the next level. Gunner commits to working with him.

This is as far as i have gotten in this reading. I am excited to find out what happens next to see if Gunner sticks with his commitment. I also think that that is a very influential thing that Preston did to tell him and I think that it gave Gunner confidence. It will be interesting to see what happens.
